Good bye to all that

Yes it is, dear readers...

It's been months since I've checked in here. In all that time nothing has changed and no one has visited. In fact, as far as I can tell, and I'm no expert at analytics, no one has ever read a single thing I've written in a single one of these posts. Not that I expected much, but it would have been nice if someone had taken a look. Just one person.

I don't think I can be bothered anymore (no please, try not to cry) and so this will be my last post.

Think if it this way - you're not losing a blogger, you're gaining a blog.

Yes, that's right dear reader, I'm leaving all of these words to you.  Take them, they're yours. Do with them what you will.  I have no further use for them. Perhaps you could make a nice hat out of them.

Well, at least you left it open for everyone to see.

Back in the proto-blogging days circa 1999, I used to visit this teenage Canadian anorexic/bulemic chick's webspace (don't ask why or how). She eventually closed it off to the public, making them have a password. I had one, but after awhile I forgot what it was, never found out what happened to her.

Stuff like that can keep you up at night. You yourself seem a bit more level headed than that though, thank Christ.

  2. Phineas and/or Ferb - Thanks for stopping by. I can't believe the amount of traffic on this blog at the moment. Nothing at all while I was writing it but now... This stuff did keep me up all night, but hopefully I am a little more level headed now. It all seems so long ago and a little embarrassing too. maybe I should put a password on this site too. Or maybe I should just pull it down.

    What do you reckon?

Take it down or keep it up, hmm... are you planning to run for political office? Is there any way a possible future employer could trace it back to you? How many Bill Masons are out there? Enough to provide you with some sort of anonymity? Or is Bill Mason an alias? If it just an alias, leave this stuff up!

But I admit, while I'm giving you this advice, I'm trying to think of a noble reason for that train of thought, and I'm coming up a bit empty. Maybe something will come to me later on.

  4. How many Bill Masons are out there? I only know of one "Bill Masen" (yes with an "e"). He was the hero in the book The Day of the Triiffids. i liked that book a lot when I was younger.

Do you think a future employer might find something in here to object to? Surely we're all allowed to vent our feelings. I don't think I'd w3ant to work for an organisation that couldn't handle me doing that. And as for politics - I'd rather eat my own head.

Thanks for the advice though. Let me know if something does come to you.

Day of the Triffids was on tv the other day. Didn't watch it. I once read John Wyndham's 'The Chrysalids', which I didn't like, and therefore never bothered with his other works.

    1. I haven't read any of his books other than The Triffids. I loved that end of the world stuff though, when I was younger. Thinking what would I do if somethign like t hat really happened. Of course I was always a survivor - never occurred to me, back then, that I'd mot than likely be one of the poor blind buggers rather than the hero.
